Anthony J. Giordano (Tony) of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 2, 2024. He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church. Tony was born to the late Charles and Mary Giordano on April 16, 1929. He was predeceased by his brothers, Louis, Albert, and Joseph, and sisters, Nellie and Sarah. He lived 94 amazing years. He married his childhood sweetheart, served his country in the United States Air Force, went back to school to the University of Indiana where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. He retired after 34 years from Johnson & Johnson as a senior scientist (chemist) and then returned as a consultant until the age of 74.
He had the honor of walking both of his daughters down the aisle, was there for the birth of all 4 of his grandchildren, watched those 4 grandchildren grow up, get married, and start lives for themselves. He was there when those grandchildren made him a great-grandpa with 7 children of their own. Every year he got to watch his family grow from the head of the dinner table, where we all returned each year on Christmas Eve. He was truly blessed and never took any of it for granted.
His favorite past times were bowling with his buddies at Bar-don Lanes and playing cards from the Fleas to the Citizen’s Club. He looked forward to breakfasts every morning with his dearest friends at Panera. His most precious moments were times spent with his wife of 71 years, his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. His legacy will live on through his family and all the lives he has touched.
Tony led his family by example. He was soft spoken, patient, kind, and loving. The true definition of a perfect gentleman. He always put his family first. To know him was to love him. His generosity, kindness, and loyalty will never be forgotten. Tony Giordano was certainly one of a kind. He is survived by his wife, Sarah, and two children, Toni Mae Pascucci and her husband Lou of North Carolina; Patti Mazurowski and her husband Jim of PA; grandchildren- Lou Pascucci and his wife Sara; Greg Pascucci and his wife Taurie; Monica Manchester and her husband Matt; Sarah Amato and her husband Anthony; great grandchildren- Ella, Lou, Wesley, Colton, Mackenzie, Madison, and Zachary; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in private. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s in Tony’s name.
