Richard J. Lockard, of Alpha, NJ, passed on March 12, 2024, at age 77. Born October 30, 1946. Rich lived most of his childhood in Belvidere, NJ, thoroughly enjoying the Delaware River. He graduated Belvidere High in 1965 and attended Maryville College in Tennessee.
Rich married Lynn Fahringer in 1968 and was father to two children, Keith and Kristen.
He was drafting/designer working at Creative Playthings in Hightstown, Reigel Paper Corp. in Milford, as well as JT Baker and Ingersoll Rand, Turbo Division, in Phillipsburg.
In his former Pohatcong Township home, Rich had an extensive workshop used for grounds maintenance, crafting, construction, art and repairs that he enjoyed tremendously. He was a licensed ham radio operator for many years. He loved his Harleys, Fords, solving crossword puzzles, (in ink!), reading and playing pool on his 1896 pool table.
Rich was predeceased by his mother, Beatrice Pacquin Lockard, his adoptive father, William J. Lockard, and his biological father, Gus Zernial (aka Czerneal.)
He is survived by Lynn, of Phillipsburg, NJ, his son, Keith Lockard and wife Tanya, of Harmony Township, and grandchildren Kinsey and T, his daughter, Kristen Korbobo and husband Brian, of Alpha, NJ, and grandchildren BreAnna (Dylan), Haylee, Colton (Steph), Olivia, and great granddaughter, Holly. Also sharing many years of memories are his in-laws, nieces, nephews, other family and dear friends.
Special thanks to the emergency responders and all the compassionate staff at St. Lukes Warren, Anderson and Hospice who helped Rich in his final days.
