Robert M. McDougal

Robert M. McDougal, 83, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away peacefully, with his loving wife by his side, on Friday, December 30, 2022.

Born on September 18, 1939, in Dover, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert F. McDougal and Anita (Best) McDougal.

Robert served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965, spending most of his time in service stationed in Anchorage, Alaska and he then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Robert was a lover of life, he had a true fondness for western riding horses, and he adored music, often spending time singing and playing the piano.

Robert is survived by his wife, Moira C. (O’Donoghue) McDougal, his children; Scott D. McDougal and his wife, Anna, of Long Valley, NJ and Heather McDougal and her partner, John, of Bluffton, SC, his sister, Bette Conover, his nieces, Kim Riter and Lynn Symonds and his siblings-in-law, David Ryan and Carmel and Terry Flanagan. Along with his parents, Robert was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Ryan and his brother-in-law, James Conover.

Calling Hours are scheduled for Friday, January 6, 2023, from 2 to 4 PM at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman Street, Phillipsburg, NJ, with a Memorial Service to immediately follow.
