Stephen J. Horvath

Stephen J. Horvath, 89, of Alpha, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2023.

Born on January 21, 1934, in Franklin Township, NJ, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Beruta) Horvath.

Stephen was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School and worked for ACME Markets as a manager until his retirement. He was a retired member of the Alpha Fire Company, a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Church and a member of the John Dolak Legion Post. Stephen was an avid fan of the New York Mets and the New York Giants and throughout his life made many friends and was highly respected in the community.

Stephen is survived by his siblings; James A. Horvath, of Alpha, NJ, Frank J. Horvath and his wife, Susan, of Forks Township, PA and Maryann Wujkiw and her husband, Theodore, also of Forks Township, PA, his nephews; Robert Horvath and his wife, Maureen, James Horvath and his wife, Rosemary, Ronald Horvath and Gregory Wujkiw and his wife, Kristin and his great nephews, Jimmy and Paulie Horvath.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, which has been scheduled for 10:00 AM, on Monday, September 25, 2023, at St. Mary’s Church, 830 5th Ave, Alpha, NJ. The interment will then follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Alpha, NJ.
