Agnes I. Nagy
Agnes I. Nagy, 86, formerly of Phillipsburg and Alpha, passed away on October 21, 2022. Born on November 25, 1935 in Stewartsville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Lovene and Bertha Hess Walz. Her husband, William S. Nagy, passed away on November 22, 2020.
Agnes was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School Class of ’53, where she was an acrobat and twirler in the marching band. She was a lifelong member of Fellowship Church in Lopatcong Twp., NJ. Agnes and her husband were active with Meals on Wheels, in Phillipsburg, for many years.
Agnes is survived by her daughters Susan M. Gardner and husband Ed; Linda S. Brousseau and husband Dennis; Patricia A. McGovern and husband Patrick. Her grandchildren are Shannon, Lindsay, Derek, Alyssa, Ryan, Brendan and Tanya. Five great-grandchildren and Agnes’ brother, Charles Walz, also survive. She was predeceased by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Graveside services will be held on Monday October 24th, at 11 am at The Stewartsville Cemetery, 220 County Rd. 638, Stewartsville, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship Church, 300 Cromwell St., Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. The Finegan Funeral Home, Alpha, NJ, is handling the arrangements.
