Carol Smulick

Carol Smulick, 88, entered into her eternal rest peacefully Jan. 23, 2021. She was the wife of Daniel Smulick who passed in 1999. Her parents were Lincoln R. Frey and Ellen I. Frey.  

She loved card club with the girls, ceramics and spending time with her sisters. She was a crossing guard for the Town of Phillipsburg then worked at A & H Sportswear, where she retired. She was of the Catholic faith.  

Surviving is her son, Daniel R. Smulick, with whom she resided in Phillipsburg, and her daughter, MaryEllen Cox and husband Jeffrey, of Lower Mt. Bethel Twp., Pa; granddaughters, Danielle Hartman Stocker (Christopher) and Janelle M. Hartman, and

great-granddaughters Elle Stocker and Sophie Stocker.  

She is also survived by sisters, Kathryn Horvath, Williams Twp.; Helen Fenstermaker (Charles) of Florida, Gayle Keretz (David) Florida, Margaret Morgan (Robert) New Hampshire, and sister-in-law, Ruth Frey, North Bangor.  

Nieces and Nephews Kim Gavornik, Keith Horvath, Bernie Maletsky, Robert Frey, Michael Frey, Robin Frey, Lauren Lilly Piperato, James Piperato and great nieces and nephews Kate Ellen & Zacchary Loch, Kelsey & Tess Horvath and other family she loved also survive.

She was predeceased by her brother Robert Frey and brother-in-law Rudolph Horvath, Nephew George Piperato and Niece Sherry Frey.  

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Rocco’s Catholic Church, 6658 Church Street, Martins Creek, Pa 18063. The interment of ashes will immediately follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Phillipsburg, NJ. There are no calling hours. The Finegan Funeral Home in Phillipsburg is coordinating arrangements.
