Donald A. Croll, 88, a long-time resident of Palmer Township, Easton, PA, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, April 9, 2020.
Donald was born on August 18th, 1931, to the late Le Roy Croll and Dorothy Nonnemacher of Allentown, PA.
A Korean War veteran, Donald served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army. Very early in his life, he joined the prestigious Bethlehem Steel company where he worked tirelessly until his retirement.
Donald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law and is survived by his wife of 47 years Ann Louise Berardinucci-Croll and 7 children: Daniel Croll of Walnutport, PA, Kimberly Croll-Shoemaker, of Danielsville, PA, Jamie and Michele Croll of Nazareth, PA, Verne and Carol Hahn of Bethlehem Township, PA, Lisa and Dean Fensetermaker of Easton, PA, Julie and Charlie Patterson of Macungie, PA and Kimberly Wambold and Willard Kincaid of Easton, PA.
In addition to his vast and loving family, Donald is survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Donald was a man of sharp dry wit, and a quiet strength that brightened the days of all who knew him. Simple in nature, and happy with the little aspects of life, he found joy while spending time biking, being in the outdoors on his treasure hunting adventures, and his newly found appreciation and devotion to the Bethany Wesleyan Church which brought him comfort and solace in his later years.
A private ceremonial funeral will be held at the Gethsemane Cemetery in Easton, PA, under the direction of the Finegan Funeral home, also of Easton, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Easton Area Food Bank where he and his wife volunteered for many years.
