Dorothy Jeanne "Dot" LaBarba
Dorothy Jeanne “Dot” LaBarba, 95, of Easton, Pa., passed away January 2nd, 2021 at St. Luke’s Anderson Hospital. Born October 6th, 1925 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Campbell and Mabel D. Lyons.
Dot was a graduate of Sault Ste. Marie High School, class of 1943. She worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone and later for Lafayette College. She was married for 59 ½ years to Donald J. LaBarba before his passing in 2005.
Dot was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Easton and the Lafayette Women’s Retiree Monthly Luncheon Group.
Dot is survived by daughters, Carmela Siddons of Easton and Joan González and her husband Luis of Palmer Twp. Grandchildren are Christine Simonetta and her husband Mark, Sean Siddons, Alicia Mugavero, Damian Gonzalez, Juliana Gonzalez and her fiancé Dustin Moffitt. Great-grandchildren are Mark, John, Regan and Connor, and her sister Winifred DeWitt and her husband Roger. Also many nieces and nephews survive. She was predeceased by her son-in-law John Siddons and brothers Merlin, Stanley, Gordon, Larry and sisters Mildred and Gladys.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the 3rd floor nurses, doctors and extended medical personnel at St. Luke’s Anderson Hospital for their kindness and care given to Dot.
Memorial Contributions in Dot’s name may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 22, 2021 at 10 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church; 900 Washington St., Easton, Pa. Interment will be in Palmer Twp., Pa. There are no calling hours. The Finegan Funeral Home, Palmer Twp., has been entrusted with the arrangements.
