Douglas R. Walter, Jr.,

Douglas R. Walter, Jr., 78, of Easton, Pa., sadly left us on February 20, 2024 at 3:55 P.M.

He passed away peacefully in his bed after a lengthy battle with pneumonia.

Born on January 4, 1946 in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the son of the late Douglas R., Sr. and Carmella Noto Walter.

Doug graduated from Phillipsburg High School and after graduation served in the U. S. Air Force. After his deployment, he attended Kutztown University where he received a bachelor’s degree in education. He spent many years working at Bethlehem Steel before his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Helen Walter, his brothers, Denny and Alan and his sons, Jim and Matt, as well as their wives Crissi and Jenn. He also leaves his grandchildren, Andrea, Dylan, Kelsey, Kinsey and Quinn, and his great-grandchildren, Maeve, Jonathan and Jasmine. Many nieces and nephews will remember him fondly as well. He will always be remembered for his love of scouting, his bad jokes and for being an avid collector of all things.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at the Alpha Fire Hall on March 17, 2024 at 12:00 Noon.
