Edward G. Fertal, III

Edward G. Fertal, III, 75, of Palmer Twp., Pa., passed away peacefully on May 26, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill, Pa.

Born on March 16, 1948 in Bethlehem, Pa., he was the son of the late Edward G., Jr. and Erma Schemenek Fertal.

Edward was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a Facility Manager for JCPL for many years. Edward was a very handy man who could fix anything. He was a drummer, enjoyed cars and would take a ride at any time and go to a café. He enjoyed traveling, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School Class of 1966 and the Northampton Community College with an Associate Degree. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his daughter, Bridget J. Fertal, and his sister, Mary Jane Kris.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Cooke Fertal, his daughter, Melissa J. Fertal-Lokovic and her husband Tom of Murrysville, Pa., along with his beloved grandchildren, Emma Grace, Lucy James, and Jack Henry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:15 A.M. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Palmer Twp., Pa., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. in the church. Interment will follow in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church. The Finegan Funeral Home, Palmer Twp., Pa. has been entrusted with his arrangements.
