Elaine May Minucci Davis

Elaine May Minucci Davis was called home to the Lord to be reunited with her husband, Stu, on Thursday, February 3, 2022.

She was born on May 4, 1937, in Alpha, NJ, to the late Peter and Delfreida Ferretti Minucci.

Elaine graduated from Phillipsburg High School, Class of 1955, ranked fifth in her class.  While in High School, she was active in musicals and was selected to NJ Girls State and the Fred Waring Student Chorus.  After graduating from the St. Francis School of Nursing in Trenton, NJ, Elaine worked as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery.  She took great pride in helping to bring many healthy babies into the world.  A lifelong love of music led her to be an accomplished pianist and soloist for local weddings.  For many years, Elaine sang with dear family and friends in the choir at St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpha, where she was an active member.  Together with Stu, she also sang in the Easton Musical Arts Chorus. Elaine shared her time and talents by teaching women to crochet at the El Centro of Catholic Charities in Trenton where she also volunteered at the food distribution for Sacred Heart Church.  Even while legally blind, Elaine crocheted hundreds of baby blankets and donated them to charity.   Primarily, Elaine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she especially enjoyed attending her grandson’s activities.

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Maureen Bibeau, and her husband, David, of Lopatcong, NJ; her son, Stuart Jude Davis, of Alpha, NJ, and her grandson, Stuart David Bibeau.  She is also survived by her sister, Lydia Souders, her sisters-in-law Mary Carol and Jane Lee Davis; her brother-in-law, William Davis; her niece, Kerry Snyder, and her husband, Lonnie; her niece, Tracy Souders, her great-nephews, Evan and Sean Snyder, her aunt Lena Boulous, and many cousins.

She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband and best friend of 56 years, Stuart Edward Davis, her parents, and her brother-in-law, Richard Souders.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the family has requested private services. The Finegan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org/give, and the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad, pburg94rescue.org/donate-here/. Donations to the Emergency Squad may be made through the website featured, or sent to P.O. Box 215, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.
