Frederick W. Fahs, 92, passed into eternal rest on Monday, October 31, 2022.

Frederick was born on February 16, 1930 to Marion and Frederick Fahs, in Easton, Pennsylvania.  Fred’s life journey took off when graduating Wilson High School in 1947, where he also met the love of his life, Dolores McConlogue. The Wilson couple married in 1950. In 1951, Fred entered the United States Navy to serve his country in the Korean War. Fred sailed on both the U.S.S. Salem and the U.S.S. New Jersey he worked as an electrician on gyroscopes used to navigate these ships. While serving in the Navy, Fred was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United States Nations Service Medal, China Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal. Upon his return to civilian life, Fred enrolled in Lafayette College on a football scholarship. Unfortunately, he suffered a career ending football injury which led to his transfer to Moravian College where he completed his degree of Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. Fred and Dolores’s story continued with the birth of their children Julie and Patrick.

When grandchildren arrived, Fred became known to the family as “PopPop”. He had a great sense of humor. PopPop enjoyed funny stories, telling them and listening to them, as well us using puns and quick wit to get the family laughing.  Fred was also a big sports fan, football being one of his most loved sports, he was a huge Notre Dame fan but also enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Golf was another sport Fred enjoyed greatly and he spent many days on the golf course in the senior league at Sawmill Golf Course, as well as with his son and grandsons. Above all Fred was a passionate family man, his best times were spent with his family. Fred was blessed with celebrating the 72nd Wedding Anniversary together with Dolores just prior to his passing on October 28th, 2022.

Fred is survived by his loving wife Dolores, daughter Julie Keppel of Wind Gap, son Patrick and wife Sharon Fahs of Nazareth, as well as 5 grandchildren; Matthew, Christopher, and Kaitlyn Keppel as well as Evan and Owen Fahs, and sister, Jaqueline Berkman.

Fred “PopPop” will be sorely missed by all his family, neighbors and friends.
