Jermaine R. Knight, Jr.

Jermaine was born on February 22, 2000 in Edison, NJ.  He was a 2018 graduate of Phillipsburg High School. After playing soccer, baseball and football, he discovered his true love was basketball.  Known on the court for his ball handling skills, quickness and leadership, he was on the varsity basketball team his entire high school career playing the position of point guard.  He went on to play on the team at Rosemont College, PA. 

Jermaine had a smile that could light up a room, infectious laugh and magnetic charm.  He had an ongoing love affair with cars and dreamt that one day he would drive his grandfather’s ’68 Chevelle drag car at the track.  He was the fashion icon of his peers.  Jermaine loved to watch sports, play video games, hang out with his friends, listen to music and work out.  Known as a respectful, friendly, kind young man he was loved by many. 

He is survived by his mother Wendy Emanuel, his father Jermaine R. Knight Sr., (wife Sana), his sister Mia Valmont, his brother Jamaad Knight, grandparents Migdalia Rivera, James Carter, Anna and Charles Knight, great grandmother Luisa Rivera, godmother Tara Epps, adored cousin Tatiana Epps and a long list of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends whom he loved.  He was met in heaven with open arms by DJ. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 10am at St. Philip & St. James Church, Phillipsburg, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Philip & St. James Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
