Joseph F. “JG” George

Joseph F. George, of Phillipsburg, NJ, 97, passed away on September 12, 2022.  He was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.

Joseph was born in Trenton, New Jersey on July 3, 1925.  He was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Grosso George.

He was the loving and devoted husband of Louise C. Serafino George, whom he loved dearly for 76 years of marriage. Everyone who knew Joe was touched by his quiet manner, patience and kindness. He always made himself available to help anyone, never saying no. He was the “best”. His joy in life was his loving wife, being with his family, holiday celebrations, and entertaining family and friends for cocktails at his home

Joseph retired in 1988 from Ingersoll-Rand, where he was an inventory controller.  He was a graduate of Easton High School class of 1944. He was a member of Saint Philip & James Catholic Church in Phillipsburg and also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Other memberships included the AARP, Over 50’s Club of Phillipsburg, Citizen Hose Fire Company of Easton and the Italian American Social Club of Phillipsburg.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Louise C. George, his daughter Anita L. Falvey, husband Charles;  his son Wayne S. George, companion Nancy Repko; his grandson, Matthew W. George all of Phillipsburg. He was preceded in death by his brother, Peter George, and sisters, Theresa Della Croce, Marian Corriere, Lucy DeMarco, Faye Rubertone, and Katherine Brunetti.

A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am on Friday October 14, 2022, at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, 430 S. Main St., Phillipsburg. The interment will be at SPSJ Cemetery in Greenwich Twp.
