It is with both great sadness but greater joy still, that we announce the passing on to her reward of our greatest blessing on earth, our mother, Lillian Snover, who went to see her Savior on May 26, 2023.
She was born in Phillipsburg on June 30, 1931, daughter to the late Armando and Lucia (Meglio) Stanganelli.
She and her devoted husband, the late Ernest Snover, founded literally “from the ground up” Snover’s Greenhouses in Lopatcong Township and operated it for over 50 years. She loved the beauty that her labors yielded in the greenhouse and continued as an integral part of it until age 89. But whatever she did, she did it as to the Lord, with all of her devotion, with all of her love, and with all of her soul, from Homemaker, to wife, to mother, to the best Italian home-cooking and baking that became well-known to draw our friends to want to eat at our house especially for Sunday dinner.
Every year she would preserve the overabundance of God’s bountiful harvest through canning, especially tomatoes because we must never run out of sauce to go on the home-made gnocchi or ravioli. She also made sour-kraut from the cabbage she grew to honor our father’s German heritage. At the same time, she was also a health-enthusiast, and an avid swimmer into her 80’s.
She was a lifelong member of Saint Philip & Saint James Catholic Church in Phillipsburg, NJ.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne E. Snover, wife Linda, of Easton, Pa, Michael A. Snover, wife Gloria Lee, of Bethlehem Twp, Pa, her daughter Lola A. Snover of Lopatcong Twp, NJ., grandchildren Dr. Michael Anthony Snover and wife Danae, of Greenville, NC, step-grandchildren Dana Loquasto and husband AJ, of Easton Pa, Stacy Cerino of Easton Pa, step-greatgrandchild Anthony Cerino of Easton, Pa, sister Lucy Mary Glorioso of Pohatcong Twp, NJ, and many nieces and nephews. She was married to her husband Ernest E Snover celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary before his passing in 2019. In addition to her husband,
Lillian was predeceased by her parents, her sister Tina Graziosi, sister Olga Cabone, brother Aldo Stanganelli, and sister Lola Bonstein.
