Lillian T. "Aunt Lil" Serafino Rossi
Lillian T. "Aunt Lil" Serafino Rossi, 97, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away Tuesday, June 28th, 2022.
She was a loving and wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Lil was born in Phillipsburg on October 26th, 1924, to the late Luigi and Rose (Christina) Serafino.
She loved music, theatre, and dancing but most of all her family. She will be remembered as a great cook especially for her Easter cheese bread and gnocchi. Always a hard worker both in and out of the home, she worked in factories to support the war effort of WWII and Ingersoll Rand to help pay for her children's education. She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church of Phillipsburg, AARP, and the Over 50’s Club.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband Frank Rossi, brothers Anthony and Albert Serafino, and sisters Angelina Febbo, Mary DePaul, and Josephine Ward.
She is survived by her son Chris, daughter Cheryl, sister Louise (Joseph) George, and many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 7th, 2022 from 5-7pm at the Finegan Funeral Home at 302 Heckman Street in Phillipsburg, NJ. Funeral services are on Friday, July 8th, 2022, beginning at the funeral home at 9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Philip & James Catholic Church, 430 So. Main Street, also in Phillipsburg. The interment will be at St. Philip & James Cemetery in Greenwich Township, NJ.
