Margaret L. Flynn

Margaret Louise Flynn (nee White) was born to Claude Lee and Elsie Vera (Hammontree) in March 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was an only child, but had many aunts, uncles and cousins whom she remembered fondly. In 1967, she took part in the Milwaukee Open Housing Marches across the 16th St Viaduct, where she was among the young activists & citizens facing off against violent, hostile crowds opposed to civil rights. She met her husband, Michael Flynn, while they were attending Marquette University. They married in July 1971. She is a graduate of Regis College in Denver, Colorado.

Marge or Margie, as she was known, worked a long career with the Federal Reserve Banks of Kansas City and New York, as a systems analyst. One of her favorite things about working in New York was enjoying all of the things the city had to offer, especially the Lincoln Center, Broadway, the museums, and the restaurants. Marge loved to travel, spending time in Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria, and all over the United States. She was devoted to her faith, and most recently attended St. Jane Frances Church in Palmer, PA. After retirement, Margie enjoyed golf, discovering new roads and adventures in Eastern PA, going to the movies so often she’d get free tickets and popcorn, and spending time with her grandchildren, her family, and her friends.

Margie is survived by her loving husband, Michael, her daughter Sara, her son Dennis, her grandchildren Noelle, Zaid and Adam, her brothers in law Sean (Dana), Kevin (Harriet) and Patrick (Patricia), her friend Mariellen Ghion, and many other relatives and friends who will miss her ready presence, her listening ear, her sarcastic observations, her thoughtful advice, and her willingness to help them at any moment.
