Maria Amatore

Maria Amatore, 76, of Siracusa Italy, and a current resident of Stewartsville, NJ, passed away in the presence of her family and our local catholic priest Father Gilbert, on Monday, May 3, 2021.

Born on May 29, 1944, in Siracusa, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Carlo and Rosa (Gianni) Previti.

In 1967 Maria came to the United States with her new husband, Attilio Amatore, with whom she would go on to share 54 years of marriage. She resided in Brooklyn, NY, for 30 years prior to moving to Stewartsville, NJ and she was an incredibly dedicated and caring mother. She was a good hearted woman of deep faith and loyal to her family. 

Along with her husband, Maria is survived by her children, Alfredo Amatore and his wife Wendy, of San Diego, CA, and Paola Amatore, of Stewarstville, NJ, her granddaughters, Sabrina and Alessia and her brothers; Sebastiano, Antonio and Concetto Previti. She was preceded in death by her sister, Venerina Belfiore.

There is a Viewing scheduled for Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 6 to 8 PM at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman Street, Phillipsburg, NJ, with a Mass of Christian Burial set for the following day, Friday, May 7, 2021, at 10 AM, in St. Philip and St. James Church, 430 S Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. The entombment will then follow at the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township, PA.
