On the morning of December 13, 2021, Marie Yacone Repsher passed peacefully in her sleep at Alexandria Manor where she was a resident for the past two years. She graced this earth for 97 amazing years.
Marie was born in Easton, PA to Joseph and Lucy Castronouva Ribaudo. She graduated from Easton High School and moved to East Orange, New Jersey, working for the post office fingerprinting new enlistees for the services during WWII. She married her high school sweetheart, Tommy Yacone, in 1945 as soon as he completed his service in the Aleutian Islands and returned home. Together they had two children, Linda (Yacone) Stewart and Tommy Yacone. They had 16 wonderful years until Tommy passed unexpectedly in 1961. She began working as a secretary for the AFLCIO from 1961 through to her retirement. As a single mom she raised her children to respect and cherish every moment of life. Later in her life’s journey, Marie met and married Floyd Repsher and became step-mom to his two children, Floyd Jr. and Linda (Repsher) Weaver.
Marie had a passion for fashion and dressing well was important, so it stands to reason that shopping for everything under the sun was always her favorite pastime. Even at the age of 96, she often commented on the outfit and shoes you were wearing. “That looks nice, is it new?”, was a common refrain. She enjoyed being at the beach visiting Wildwood, NJ and Atlantic Beach, NC and spending time with her cousins in St. Petersburg, FL. Marie also enjoyed traveling for Country Music shows in West Virginia, Branson and the Grand Ole Opry. She valued spending time during the Christmas season in Michigan and California. A highlight of her travels was her trip to Italy and Sicily in 2005 to see the birthplace of her parents as well as various cities throughout the Italian countryside.
Twice widowed, Marie was preceded in death by Tommy and Floyd, her parents Joseph and Lucy and her sister Nina (Ribaudo) Knott.
She is survived by her sister Patricia (Ribaudo) Fleming, her children Linda, Tommy, Floyd Jr. and Linda. She leaves behind six grandchildren, Stephanie (Stewart) Paschke, Scott Stewart, Tommy & Brett Yacone, Brad Weaver and Trish (Weaver) Piperata, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marie was much loved and will be greatly missed by her family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be lovingly greeted by friends and family when she enters the gates of Heaven.
A viewing hour will be held on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at the Finegan Funeral Home, 4080 William Penn Highway, Palmer Twp., Pa. from 10 to 11 am, with the service to follow at 11 am. Interment will be held at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Williams Twp., Pa.
