Marion Marie Janisch
Marion Marie Janisch, 91, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 19, 2024 in her home.
She was born on August 16, 1932 in Alpha, NJ, a daughter of the late Albert and Mary Homa Seaman.
Marion worked for J.A. Homa as a bookkeeper for many years. Her life revolved around St. John Orthodox Church in Alpha, where she was the choir director, sang in the choir since she was a little girl and was involved with many fund raisers at the church. In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Janisch who passed away in 1983, her daughter-in-law, Josephine Janisch and her sisters, Anna Maczko and Eleanor Bunko.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Janisch of Nazareth, Pa., and Timothy Janisch of Phillipsburg, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew Janisch and his wife Olivia and Laura Smith and her husband Brandon, along with her great-grandchildren, Makenna, Rylee, Brayden, and Carson Smith. and Madelyn Janisch.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at The Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 10 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 1034 2nd Ave. Alpha, NJ. Interment will follow in the St. John the Baptist Orthodox Cemetery, Alpha, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Marion to the church.
