Mary Catherine Ruffe

Mary Catherine Ruffe, 83, of Lopatcong Twp., NJ, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2023, at St. Luke's, Anderson Campus.

Born on August 6, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Edna Moore Devine.

Mary was a homemaker for most of her life. Mary was devoted to her church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, and Past President of the Rosary Society. She was a member of the Basking Ridge Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her faith and her family were the most important part of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joan May and Lorraine Devoy.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Robert, her beloved children; Catherine Bergh and her husband Paul of Bernardsville, NJ, Robert Ruffe and his wife Irene of Douglasville, Pa., Paul Ruffe and his wife Kathleen of N. Brunswick, NJ, Kevin Ruffe and his wife Doreen of Perkasie, Pa., and Tara Pfreundschuh and her husband Peter of Pittstown, NJ. She is also survived by her siblings, Pat Bergh, Midge Purcer and Tom Devine, along with her 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. in the Finegan Funeral Home, 924 2nd Ave., Alpha, NJ 08865. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 10 A.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 830 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ. 08865. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Annandale, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mary to St. Mary Catholic Church, Alpha, NJ.
