Robert Lurig

Robert Lurig, 76, of Bloombury, NJ, passed away on February 21, 2023 at St. Luke’s Allentown Campus. Born on October 18, 1946 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Manfried and Lillian Boesch Lurig. Robert was a firefighter for 29 years in N. Bergen, NJ, and also was a police officer for 7 years in N. Bergen, NJ. He was an avid train enthusiast and coached baseball Powell Team and football. He started the Babe Ruth Team in Phillipsburg, NJ. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Jane DeCataldo Lurig, his son Matthew Lurig and his companion Carolyn Carvino of Easton, Pa., along with his siblings, Manfried Lurig of Frenchtown, NJ, and Evelyn Hauck of Bangor, Pa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Maddox, Hailey, Ben, Liam and Robert and Monique Melise. Robert was predeceased by his son, Robert Peter Lurig. There will be no services at the request of Mr. Lurig.
