Robert P. Kitchen Sr.
Robert P. Kitchen Sr., 82, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away on November 2nd, 2021 at his residence.
He was born on January 3rd, 1939 to the late Marvin and Sadie Trumbauer Kitchen in Easton, Pa. His wife, Doris J. McArdle Kitchen, passed away in 2013. They celebrated 54 years of marriage at the time of her death.
Bob was employed by Follett Corp. for many years until retirement. After retirement he enjoyed a monthly breakfast with fellow retirees. He was a member of the Fleas Club, Citizen’s Hose, Safety First Fire Co., Concordia Maennerchor, Easton., YMIA, Phillipsburg. He was an avid NASCAR fan as well as a daily presence at Mike’s Corner Deli in Phillipsburg. Bob was a member of St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.
He is survived by his son, Robert P. Kitchen, Jr. and wife Diane N. of Saylorsburg, daughters Traci L. and Michelle L. Kitchen of Phillipsburg and Colleen M. VanLuvanee and husband Travis of Phillipsburg. Grandchildren, Robert P. III and wife Molly, Danielle N. Ray and husband Chris, Michael R. Vega and wife Joanne and Corinne M Vega; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle S., Matilda R. and Noah R.; Step great-grandchild, Shannon. He is also survived by brother Warren Kitchen and sisters Doris Bellis and Dorothy Oren. He also was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday November 6, 2021 at The Finegan Home, 302 Heckman St., Phillipsburg, NJ, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. The interment will be private.
