Born on December 5, 1938, in Waterbury, CT, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Mary (Schmidt) Capaldo.
Russell is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Shirleyann G. (Mangini) Capaldo, his sons; Russell Capaldo, Jr. and his wife, Myrna, of Bangor, PA, Randall Capaldo and his fiancé, Cheryl Wasko, of North Brunswick, NJ, Richard Capaldo and his wife, Olivia Passucci-Capaldo, of Scotch Plains, NJ and Robert Capaldo, Sr. and his wife, Gina, of South Plainfield, NJ, his grandchildren; Kristin, Anthony, Christopher, Robert Jr., Dylan, Zoe and Jacob, his step grandsons, Stefano, Ryan, Tristan and Angelo, his three great-grandchildren, his sister, Patricia Ray Schmidt and his nieces and nephews.
Russell was a great family man; he loved his wife and was proud of his four sons. Russell was very much loved by his family and friends. Russell served in the Army National Guard. He started out as a tin knocker then became a salesman for residential and commercial in the HVAC industry. He was a great handyman and a hard worker at his job and at home. He always strived for the best for his family. His hobbies were sport cars, motorcycles, music and high-end stereo systems. We nicknamed him the gadget man because he loved the latest and greatest things in technology. Russell’s health was declining for the past year and he suffered a lot during that time. His Faith was in the Lord and we believe that he is not suffering anymore because he is in Heaven where there is no more pain or suffering. He will be greatly missed.
A Calling Hour is scheduled for Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 10 to 11 AM, at the Phillipsburg Alliance Church, 255 Lincoln St, Phillipsburg, NJ, with a Funeral Service to directly follow.
