Sophie Taylor

Sophie Taylor, 95, of West Easton, PA, formerly of Flicksville, PA, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2023, at her home.

Born on March 1, 1927 in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Yarko Sonchack.

Sophie was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Sophie was a member of St. Jane's Catholic Church, Palmer Twp., PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Taylor who passed away on November 1, 1998, along with her siblings; Steve, Frank and Charles Sonchack, Olga Wallaesa, Helen Stackhouse, Ann Vresk and Kathryn Ferrante.

Sophie is survived by her loving children, Mary T. Stoudt and her husband Garry of Nazareth, PA, and Harold Taylor and his wife Darlene of West Easton, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian and Jason Stoudt, Zachery Taylor and (Allezondra), and Raquel Taylor. Additionally, she is survived by her great-grandchildren, Natalie, Nicole and Samuel Stoudt.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave., Palmer Twp., PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.

Interment will take place at Gethsemane Cemetery, Palmer Twp., PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Sophie to the church.
