Gary Jan Meddaugh

Gary Jan Meddaugh, 79, of White Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

Born on September 28, 1944, in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Sofie R. (Marason) Meddaugh.

Gary graduated with Phillipsburg High School’s class of 1962 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Lafayette College in 1966. Gary served in the United States Air Force and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in the Vietnam War. He then went on to retire from Victaulic, where he worked for 36 years. Gary was a member of the American Legion Post 528 of White Township, NJ, he served on the White Township Board of Education for 24 years and was a former member of the Roche (now DSM) Community Advisory Panel. Gary coached soccer, basketball and baseball for the White Township Youth Athletic Association, he served as both the soccer and baseball commissioner, served as secretary of the former Warren County Little League, served as president of the Phillipsburg Area Youth Soccer League and was the former chapter director in White Township for the National Youth Sports Coaches Association. Gary was also a founding member and trustee of the Christopher Meddaugh Foundation.

Gary is survived by his wife, Kathleen M. (Maczko) Meddaugh, his daughter, Monica Meddaugh and fiance Joseph Costello, of North Wales, PA, his granddaughters, Cecilia and Charlotte and his brother Jay Meddaugh and his wife, Toni, of Coopersburg, PA. In addition to his parents, Gary was predeceased by his son, Christopher Meddaugh.

A Viewing is being held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at the Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman Street, Phillipsburg, NJ, with a Funeral Service to immediately follow. The interment will then be at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Alpha, NJ.
