John "Chip" McFadden

John “Chip” McFadden, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Monday February 5th, 2024 at St. Luke’s Warren Hospital in Philipsburg, New Jersey. Born on May 1, 1951 in Warren Hospital, he was the son of the late Violet Gallagher McFadden and John McFadden. 

Chip graduated from Phillipsburg Catholic High School in 1969. After graduating from Salam College in Salem, West Virginia, Chip was employed by the Philipsburg Board of Education for 37 years in the middle school as the physical education and health instructor. He was also a manager and life guard of the Lopatcong Pool. For many years he and his wife owned and operated the Harmony Hill Orchard in Harmony Township. 

Chip was a volunteer EMT with the Lopatcong Township squad. He was an EMT instructor for the State Of New Jersey serving at Warren Hospital and Warren County Community College. He was a member of the New Jersey State First Aid Council and its State Convention Committee. Chip served on the Harmony Township Planning Board. 

Chip immensely enjoyed being a referee with the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association for high school football at the local and state levels. Recently, Chip competed with his black labrador, Padre, in AKC Hunt Test Competitions. 

Chip is survived by his wife Pamela Dunkel McFadden, cousins Michele Litke, Mary Ann and Earl Ihrie. 

A viewing is scheduled for Saturday, February 10th, 2024 from 11am to 3pm at Finegan Funeral Home, 302 Heckman Street Phillipsburg, New Jersey 08865.
