Helen Ann (Bauer) Lance, 95, of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
Born on July 3, 1928, in Northampton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Florian and Mary (Hartler) Bauer. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde B. Lance, in 1987.
Helen left high school to begin working at a young age at the Silk Mill in Copley, PA, she then went on to work as an electrical assembler for Western Electric, eventually retiring from ITT, in Easton, PA. Originally growing up in Northampton she was 1 of 12 children with her parents coming over from Austria/Hungary. It was in Northampton she met the love of her life Clyde. She then relocated to Phillipsburg where they raised their family. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed going dancing with her husband and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Susan Lance, of Phillipsburg, NJ, her grandchildren, Derek Lance and his wife, Rachel, of Easton, PA and Rachael Farmer, of Bath, PA, her great-grandchildren, Vincent and Julia Lance, her sister, Elizabeth Roma, of Allentown, PA and her many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara A. Farmer, her six brothers and her five sisters.
A Viewing is being held on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 9 to 10 AM at St. Philip and St. James Church, 430 South Main Street, Phillipsburg, NJ, with a Mass of Christian Burial to directly follow. The Interment will then be at St. Philip and St. James Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ. The Finegan Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
