James Javes

James Javes, 88, of Alpha, NJ, passed away while surrounded by his family, on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Born on October 25, 1934, in Milford, NJ, he was the son of the late Cyril and Ruth (Fleck) Javes.

James worked for New York Transformer, in Alpha, NJ, for many years before going on to work for and retire from Mack Trucks. James was member of St. Mary's Church for over 60 years, serving as an usher for many of those years, he was also a member of the Local 677 Union Chapter. James loved both his cars and his time spent at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord in Lancaster, PA, but most of all he loved his family, especially his Grandson.

James is survived by his loving wife of close to 62 years, Rose Marie (Hritz) Javes, his daughter, Rebecca Christian and her husband, Robert, also of Alpha, NJ, his grandson, Nevada Christian and his nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, James was predeceased by his sisters, May Fair and Jane Sassaman.

A Viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 9 to 10 AM, at the Finegan Funeral Home, 924 Second Avenue, Alpha, NJ, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM at St. Mary's Church, 830 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ, 08865. The interment will then be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Alpha, NJ.
