Mitchel Lewis Rutkowski

Mitchel Lewis Rutkowski, 77, of Easton, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 6, 2023.

Mitch was born on October 20, 1945, to Ethel and Skip Rutkowski in Annapolis, Maryland.  After Mitch graduated from Linton High School in Schenectady, NY he went on to serve in the Air Force.  He was stationed across the country and in the Philippines.  After 20 years of service working as an instructor for flight simulators and receiving many medals, he retired from the Air Force.  He then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree at the University of Alabama at Troy.  Mitch spent the remainder of his career working as a contractor for the US Military Defense, living in many different states.  He worked tirelessly to receive his Certified Professional Logistician designation.  After a 25-year career, he retired and continued to enjoy time spent with family, travelling and the outdoors.  His sense of humor will be missed by all.

Mitch was the oldest of four children. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and youngest brother Tom Rutkowski.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Evelyn Rutkowski, 4 children; William Rutkowski, Amy D’Angola (Mark), Carrie Mulranen (Joe), Jenna Saltmarsh (Don), 5 grandchildren; Jacob Knopp, Ashley Knopp, Evan Saltmarsh, Mason Saltmarsh, Madeline Saltmarsh, his sisters; Susan Joseph and Grace Rechisky and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery on September 18th at 9:30am.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation, an organization Mitch felt strongly about.
